FA Vase action returns for the Lancers this weekend, as Rouane’s side host Sutton Common Rovers at Culver Road, in the third round proper of the Buildbase FA Vase 2019/20.

The first team have already had an action-packed journey in the Vase, and this will be the first time in 8 years that Lancing have reached the third round proper of the prestigious competition. Both sides will be keen to progress to the 4th round, closer on the road to Wembley, but whatever the result, both clubs will be happy with their progress into the third round – a huge achievement in itself.

Rovers currently sit 3rd in their equivalent Premier Division, with 29 points from 16 games, catching up with Ascot United and Colliers Wood United, who sit in 1st & 2nd place respectively. Sutton come fresh from a 12-1 thrashing of second-bottom Hounslow United on the weekend, before that a 4-1 loss at Egham Town.

Rouane’s side maintain their second-place position in the SCFL Premier Division, closing the gap on league-leaders Eastbourne Town, following a 4-2 victory away at Little Common on Saturday.

Here is a reminder of how we have done so far in the Vase this year…

  • Lancing 7 – 0 Worthing United (Second Round Qualifying)
  • Rusthall 0 – 2 Lancing (First Round Proper)
