Last nights RUR Charity Cup Semi Final away at Eastbourne Town had to be abandoned after 60 minutes following an injury to Lancing defender Liam Hendy.

Up until the injury, it was certainly a close, entertaining match, with the Lancers 2-0 lead with goals from Finney and Rhodes soon turned upon its head, as Town scored 2 to equalise.

It is now confirmed that Hendy received a dislocated elbow during the fixture & has since received treatment in hospital.

It is believed that Hendy will be out for 4-6 weeks but is bound to be in support at our fixtures in the meantime.

The club would like to thank Referee Tom Price & his assistants for their decision to abandon the fixture to ensure that Hendy received the suitable treatment needed, and to Eastbourne Town for their support throughout the incident.

As a club committee we are proud of the professionalism shown week in, week out, by our players & management teams, including Georgie our club physiotherapist.

Our re-arranged fixture for the RUR Semi Final will be announced in due course.

Next up, we host East Preston on Saturday, in the SCFL Premier Division at Culver Road – 3pm kick-off.

Speedy recovery, Hendy!
