*Our latest, updated guidance policy can be found here*
Today, Saturday 18th July, the FA have announced completely updated guidance about the imminent return of competitive grassroots football.
Since June we have been holding socially-distanced, non-contact training sessions with groups of 6 players & coaches and implemented strict safety measures to protect our players amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today it has been announced that this guidance no longer applies, and that competitive, contact training sessions can take place immediately with a cap of 30 attendees, and that as of August competitive matches will return in the form of pre-season friendlies. Following this, league & cup football will return in September, as confirmed today by the SCFL.
This new guidance means a rapid change to our football sessions. Although many restrictions have now been eased, we will still take measures to protect our members, primarily steps that will be taken within the Culver Road stadium, in partnership with the Sussex County FA. This will be an extremely busy time for our committee & management teams to adapt to new guidance, but we will ensure that the return of competitive football is as safe as we can offer.
