Friendlies are being finalised and will begin in August across our squads, whilst the first team league season in the Southern Combination Football League is due to start in September. Our squads have all been training at Culver Road and at nearby parks & outdoor gyms, and following all of our strict safety procedures to stay safe. The FA Cup and FA Vase will also return in September – look out for the cup draws over the coming weeks!

You can view our latest signing-on news here.

So, with the scheduled friendlies and as we near September, here is an update on Culver Road.

Friendlies:

Our pre-season friendlies will be held behind closed doors for both home & away fixtures, as implemented by the national FA.

We will have a small number of home friendlies at Culver Road, beginning with our first team in August. Although we cannot open the ground to supporters, we have partnered with Your Instant Replay to provide full match highlights of the fixtures. These highlights will be posted the same day via our website and YouTube channel.

Restrictions will also be in place for our players & coaches during friendlies, such as restricted warm-up & cool-down times, social distancing & cleaning of equipment during breaks, and for now, the Culver Road changing rooms and indoor facilities (excluding outdoor toilets) will remain closed until we can re-open safely, hopefully for when the league & cups return in September.

Keep an eye out via our social media channels for our pre-season schedule to be announced shortly.

League Season:

The first team, ladies, Under-23s and Under-18s Development squad leagues will begin in September. We will await updates from the FA as to whether these will continue to remain behind closed doors or open to spectators with strict safety procedures in place.

Rest assured, that when we can welcome our supporters back to Culver Road, we will have distancing, hygiene & safety measures in place for a safe & enjoyable return to live football in Lancing!

We are also currently working with the Sussex FA to consider all options for the opening of the bar & refreshments facility and will inform all supporters of how this will operate during the season in good time.

Please note that our Disability league has been suspended until at least January 2021 to safeguard the health of our players.

Facility

We’ve been busy working with the Sussex County FA and our own safeguarding & welfare team to implement the safety procedures for sessions, and also upgrades to the ground itself.

A new one-way system has been implemented in the ground; new CCTV & security systems installed; frequent cleaning of all equipment & washrooms; PPE & COVID supplies provided, and we have ensured that we follow our risk assessment & safety policies.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes, and have lots of exciting news coming your way over the coming months as football returns.

In the meantime if you have any enquiries or wish to find out more about our plans for when supporters can return, please contact us using the address below.

On behalf of all of the Lancing FC senior committee, we look forward to seeing all of our regular supporters, and both familiar & new faces, as soon as we can ensure a safe matchday experience from September onwards.
