In December for the first time we were pleased to support Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign, a national 2-week project in which clubs from non-league to the Premier League showcase their commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion and to create an ethos and environment in which football can be enjoyed by all.

We’re committed to improving our inclusivity & support, and we hope that projects like these increase our networks of visibility.

Everyone is welcome at Lancing Football Club, and we run projects throughout each season to offer visibility, support & education in relation to mental health, LGBTQ+, BAME, religious, disability and inclusivity matters. Our welfare team have a huge range of resources, policies & support networks to offer to our members and improve the experience for members of the LGBTQ+ community.

On behalf of our safeguarding team Jack added: “I’m really pleased that we can increase visibility through rainbow laces here at Lancing. As a large community football club it’s vital that we create equal opportunities for new members through outreach & visibility, and support existing members through support services & education.”

“I’d like to thank the committee for approving a small amount of funding to get this project running, and in making it successful, particularly through our online coverage during lockdown. The club is clear in it’s efforts in making football for all, whatever your background & identity.”

“We are lucky to have a diverse & dynamic board, and this project is one of many initiatives we aim to run now and in the future.”

Through wearing Rainbow Laces, we show our support of any member that belongs to the LGBTQ+ community, and we improve visibility whilst also supporting Stonewall through the purchase of laces.
