They say 3rd time lucky?

Tomorrow, the 28th the Lancers are away to Beckenham Town. With the weather being dry this weekend and tomorrow we are hopeful that the fixture won’t be delayed yet again.

Heading into this fixture, Beckenham sit bottom of the table with 7 points from 11 games whereas the Lancers sit 10th with 16 points from 11 games.

Latest Results

On Saturday, the Lancers were held by 10 man Sittingbourne to a goalless draw. Beckenham Town faced East Grinstead Town at Eden Park Avenue, running out 3-0 winners. Beckenham scored within 20 minutes to give them a 1-0 lead going into the break. They scored twice in the 2nd half within 5 minutes to give Beckenham a comfortable win over East Grinstead Town

Last time out against Beckenham

Last season we met with the Becks twice, home and away. The last time we met was actually at Eden Park Avenue where they beat us in a 4-0 win. We met them on the opening day of the season at Culver Road and lost 2-3. However a whole different team has been brought in at Lancing and under management of David Altendorff who have been on top form.

Becks average attendance

Despite results not being all they would have hoped for, resulting in them being bottom of the league, they are still getting an average attendance of 253 which puts them 7th overall in the league, compared to Lancing’s average home fans is 283. However, with this being a Tuesday night game in Kent, a crowd of more than 200 seems unlikely and obviously we appreciate those who make the journey to Kent especially on a Tuesday night.

Don’t forget

Do not forget that we are away on Saturday vs Ashford United, with a few spaces available on the mini bus so please contact chairman Barry Sutton if you want to be involved with that away trip on Saturday. Seats will cost no more than £30 and we are expected to leave Culver Road at 10:30am

We have a Tuesday night game at home on Tuesday 16th January 2024 where we will play Hythe Town in the league after the original match on Saturday 9th December has been postponed due to Hythe’s progress in the FA trophy.

Our league match away at Burgess Hill Town is now a 1pm kick off.

Beckenham Town is a cash only venue – no cards please.
