Many of you would have noticed a familiar name on the scoresheet on Saturday. Former Lancing player Charlie Pitcher is fondly remembered at Culver Road, with his 4 goal FA Cup haul away to Greenwich Borough in under half an hour in 2018 a highlight of his previous stint with us. Charlie has hit the ground running this time with a brilliant 90th minute winner at Ashford on Saturday.

Manager Dave Altendorff said “Charlie is a player that I’ve always admired. He’ll bring some much needed experience as well as competition for the forward positions. He’s also a fantastic character, and somebody that will fit in really well in the dressing room. I’m really looking forward to working with him”

Charlie added “I’m excited to get going and to become a part of this group. I watched the game last week as a spectator and was really impressed with the calibre of the squad and the set up. It’s great to be back at this level.”

Chairman Barry Sutton said “We are delighted to welcome Charlie back to Culver Road. Charlie was a crowd favourite during his time with us previously and I’m sure the Culver Road faithful will give him a warm welcome. Charlie will give the squad a boost and his ability to find the back of the net is always important.”
