This weekend we welcome the fans, players, management and club officials from Margate to the home of the Lancers. So far Margate currently sit 9th of the table with 9 points from 5 games and yet to lose in the league. Tuesday saw our visitors lose 2-0 away to Horsham in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round. Last Season Margate were relegated from the Isthmian Premier Division so will be showing why they want to be heading straight back up.
Not only do we welcome Margate but we also welcome back former Lancer (last season’s top goal scorer) Lukas Franzen-Jones who has already settled in and showing his scoring habitat with his new club. We are sure the popular frontman will be given a warm welcome on his return.
In other news we were pleased to be in attendance of the Sussex County FA Awards ceremony at the American Express (AMEX) Stadium (home of Brighton and Hove Albion); last night (Thursday 3rd October); as Cam (our social media volunteer) had won the Grassroots Football Young Volunteer of the Year award. He was joined in attendance with chairman Barry Sutton and partner Emma, as well as Lancing Committee Members Tina and Brendan Carey. Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Cam on this fantastic achievement.
