May – Moving Onwards and Upwards
Following on from our fans’ meeting, I would like to thank everyone who attended. It was a very useful evening with some encouraging interaction, great ideas, and fantastic support for the club especially from Steve and Kev regarding the GoFundMe page, which is now up and running and gaining positive interest.
Now fully confirmed in the position of Chairman, I want to help move the club forward.
We have a great club with positive, enthusiastic committee members who are committed to working hard to stabilise and rebuild for the future.
Dean and Steve are back from their holiday and ready to throw themselves into the job of rebuilding the playing side.
They are already working hard to arrange pre-season fixtures and training.
It will be great to get the season underway and enjoy the reason we all do this – watching football at Culver Road.
We’re also working to get the U18s team up and running in the SCFL U18 League, with help from the SCFA to fit us into their hectic schedule.
In addition, we’re looking to link up with another local side to form a “reserve” team in collaboration with the club.
A lot has already been done: setting up the GoFundMe, contacting and meeting sponsors old and new, meeting with the SCFA and fans, and building stronger links with the Youth section – including updates to the website.
There’s still a lot of hard work ahead to secure our future, but with everyone pulling in the same direction, things are looking positive.
It’s really starting to feel like a community club from youth to adults with fans and businesses answering our call for help, so the village can be proud of our Football Club.
Thank you.
