Message from the Chairman
I would like to thank all the supporters who made the trip to Eastbourne United last Saturday and offer my apologies on behalf of the club for a very unfortunate scoreline. It was not an easy watch. Straight after the game Dale apologised to me, and I want to pass that on to you as supporters. Even though we were six nil down at half time, I still felt the team gave everything in the second half and did not simply give up, but we all know that a nine nil defeat is not acceptable.
If any of our supporters who attended the game would like to make themselves known to me or to a committee member, the club will arrange a free ticket to any Lancing FC home match in the future as a way of covering your entry fee at Eastbourne.
I have seen some of the comments about a lack of communication and I understand the frustration. There are several reasons for this, including some that I cannot discuss for personal reasons. As you know, we are all volunteers who run this club. There is only so much time available to each of us and we do our very best for Lancing FC. The past few weeks have brought a lot of upheaval and many changes and it has not been easy for anyone to keep up. I am always happy to welcome extra help if anyone would like to volunteer their time to support the club and help provide what the fans would like. Please do step forward if you can offer your services.
I would also like to send the club’s best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery to one of our committee members, Ron George, who is going through a very difficult time and is currently still in hospital.
I am working to arrange a Q and A session with the management team and with myself. You know I will not shy away from the current situation and I will be open and honest with you. I will organise this as soon as possible because I am sure many of you have questions that deserve proper answers. It is not easy to address everything on social media or in this programme article.
We also have a Christmas Raffle Party arranged for Saturday 6 December. The bar will be open after the game until midnight and under sixteens are welcome until nine in the evening. Entry is free, a buffet will be provided and we hope many of you will join us for a Christmas celebration. The raffle will be drawn during the evening.
