It turned out to be an entertaining and well-fought tie 79 between Lancing and Acorns, ending 2-2 after extra-time and 5-4 on penalties to the Lancers.
Two goals from striker Heidi Tucker (12′, 32′) gave the Lancers a 2-0 lead within the first third of the match. However, Acorns attacker Chloe Higham (40′, 50′) levelled the scoreline 5 minutes either side of the half-time break.
Manager Wayne Poulter added: “A great performance all-round for our squad, and a special mention to our keeper Kirsty Jenman for having a great match.”
