The FA has provided an update for ‘non-elite’ football in England following the UK Government’s announcement on new national COVID-19 restrictions that will be in place from Thursday 5 November 2020 until Wednesday 2 December 2020.

This will include:

  • Suspension of all matches and training sessions
  • Suspension of social events, team events and similar
  • Closure of the Culver Road stadium and associated facilities

Although one-to-one coaching can be offered in line with social distancing and government guidelines, the one-to-one coaching of Under-18s is strictly not permitted. This is due to the FA requirement that a minimum of 2 DBS adults be present with a player under the age of 18, and as the restrictions only allow 2 people to meet outside, this cannot be facilitated.

We have updated the website fixtures list and our next game back is currently due to be on Saturday 5 December away to Loxwood. News on what will happen to the missed fixtures will be confirmed by the FA in due course.

We would like to thank all of our committee members, volunteers and coaches for their commitment over the last few months, in which we have successfully welcomed back COVID-safe football for nearly 20 teams in Lancing since the lifting of the original lockdown. We also thank all of our supporters and sponsors for their continued support of the Lancers.

You can read the full FA announcement on the second lockdown via their website here.
