We are delighted that as of today, our squads will return to competitive football, including training & fixtures, subject to guidance from the FA and DCMS, and the restrictions placed upon us as a Tier 2 area. We have also worked with the Sussex County FA and local council to ensure the Culver Road stadium is compliant with new Tier 2 regulations.
Please note that this return to football unfortunately doesn’t affect our Disability squad who remain under suspension for safety precautions during the pandemic.
Following updated guidance and league meetings over the past week, please find our main updates below:
- COVID-19 protocols will remain in place as before, such as NHS Test & Trace QR posters; temperature scanning; provision of hand sanitiser on entry & exit; mask use for inside buildings; social distancing measures; changing room capacities & mask use; online ticket systems for first team fixtures; regular sanitisation of equipment & facilities.
- Our standard crowd capacity of 300 will remain in place unless stated otherwise.
- New measures due to Tier 2 restrictions will include the closure of our bar & clubhouse, with no sale of alcohol using a seated or takeaway service permitted.
- Our servery hatch will remain open for takeaway hot & cold food & (soft) drink.
We apologise to members & supporters for the closure of our clubhouse & bar, however as a Tier 2 region we have a legal responsibility to close unless we are downgraded to Tier 1 in the future.
FA Statement
“Organised outdoor football activity is permitted at these levels across all three tiers from Wednesday 2 December but it is extremely important that clubs, players, coaches, match officials, league officials, volunteers, parents, carers and facility providers continue to strictly follow both the UK Government’s latest guidance on COVID-19 and respective bespoke guidance documents from The FA.”
